British Legal Technology Forum 2018 success for DictateNow
Here at DictateNow, we work hard to get our transcription and digital dictation services in front of the people that matter. Every audience requires a different approach, but in our experience, getting face-to-face time with prospects is still the best way to secure new business.
Which is why we chose to join more than 90 other exhibitors at the British Legal Technology Forum at Old Billingsgate in London in March to demonstrate our expertise and experience to a more than 1200 visitors from UK’s top law firms.
The event is organised by NetLaw Media and is billed as Europe’s largest legal technology conference and exhibition.
It seeks to bring together the most respected professionals from the legal and commercial technology sectors, to explore and discuss the systems, strategies, processes and platforms that will drive the future of law firms and legal businesses – which is why DictateNow had to be involved.
The event space
The event boasted five presentation stages and over 2,500 square metres of exhibition space. Fortunately, the DictateNow stand was close enough to the presentations for myself and Annie, our Head of Sales and Business Development to gain valuable insight into the topics up for discussion.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, cyber-security featured highly, as did GDPR, which given how close to the May deadline we were, was focussed more on ongoing compliance than being compliant on the 25th.
Multi-stream conference sessions, keynote presentations, panel discussions, knowledge sessions, interviews and interactive demonstrations kept the visitors entertained and informed in equal measure.
Topics covered included, the future of legal technology, blockchain, the benefits of hyper-connectivity, the value of data as an asset and a myriad of tech apps to help law firms be more productive and improve efficiency.
Interestingly, DictateNow was one of only a handful of exhibitors not promoting cyber-security, GDPR tools for compliance or new high-tech apps for niche services.
We love tech too
We were simply promoting traditional outsourced transcription and secretarial services, undertaken by real human beings, who understand accents, filter out background noise and know when a job is pressing and needs to be accurately transcribed first time and returned within the hour. Simple.
Judging by how busy our stand was, it’s a simple message that shone through all the tech chatter and ‘must-have’ technology. Most of those we spoke to wanted support for their legal practices and recognised the cost-benefit delivered by only paying for the service you use, when you use it.
Despite the simple message, our mobile app and custom software, designed in-house, that drives DictateNow Office is technologically advanced, safe, secure and not only GDPR compliant, but ISO 27001:2013 too. And we have the certificate to prove it.
See you next year
The event was a big success for us and we have been following up on all the leads garnered at the show, which will certainly help spread our message of cost-effectiveness to more law firms across the UK.
With the new GDPR expected to curtail a lot of e-marketing, we expect the exhibition with face-to-face meetings will become popular once again. So if you visit a legal sector exhibition in the year ahead, be sure to keep an eye out for the DictateNow stand and drop by to say hello.
If you can’t wait that long to discuss the secretarial support your firm needs, please get in touch and we will come and see you.
We’re open 24/7, for more information and to discuss
